Intensive Care for Neonatal

Phototherapy Bed - $10,000

Consists of exposure to daylight or to specific wavelengths of light using lasers, light-emitting diodes, fluorescent lamps, diachronic lamps or very bring, full-spectrum light—by a so-called light box. The light is administered for a prescribed amount of time and, in some cases, at a specific time of day. Light therapy directed at the skin is used to treat neonatal jaundice.

Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) - $3,000

A method of respiratory ventilation, PAP ventilation is also commonly used for critically ill patients in the hospital with respiratory failure, and in newborn infants (neonates). In these patients, PAP ventilation can prevent the need for tracheal intubation, or allow earlier extubation.

A medical device that indirectly measures the oxygen saturation of a patient’s blood (as opposed to measuring oxygen saturation directly through a blood sample) and changes in blood volume in the skin, producing a photopletysmograph.
